Save & restore

Serialize authored chart state and recreate a controller. This feature belongs to @revolist/charts and can be used without Pivot or a grid.

Choose Save and change title. The example captures the model, then changes the visible title. Choose Restore saved chart to destroy the current controller and recreate the saved chart.

The demo holds the snapshot in memory. Your application chooses its own storage and versioning policy.

The chart uses the native Charts renderer. Buttons outside the plot are example application controls calling the public API.

Complete chart setup with sample data

Install Charts using the installation guide, then run this setup after the host mounts. The data is illustrative. Additional actions for this tool are explained below.

Standalone models are version 1 and include canonical data, authored settings, viewport, committed selection and annotations. Supply a model or data/settings, not both. Source functions, tooltip callbacks, link groups and editor drafts are runtime state and need separate setup. Validate untrusted saved input through chart creation.

Authored settings are available through chart.model. Updates replace whole settings objects: spread fields you want to retain, and await the returned promise before reading state or exporting. Destroy the controller when its host unmounts.
